A Warm Welcome to Gilmerton Neurological Care Centre in Edinburgh

The Gilmerton Neurological Care Centre (GNCC) believes in giving people with neurological condition and brain injury the best possible opportunity to change and grow as individuals, discovering and re-discovering ways back into a fulfilling life.

More about our services at Gilmerton Neurological Care Centre can be found here.

We work in close partnership with NHS neuro-rehabilitation services, Headway Services, Anne Rowling MS Rehabilitation centre, ECAS, CARDS, local Health and Social Care partners to provide long-term care for those patients who no longer need to be in hospital but require slow stream rehabilitation or on-going assessment to determine long-term needs. A Rehabilitation Therapy Programme based on the individual’s care needs is created together, listening to what is important to the patient and setting up joint goals.

The care team is led by experienced and qualified Nurses, with a wider Multi-Disciplinary Team including Physiotherapists and NHS Lothian neuro-rehabilitation services. The service is supported with enhanced GP input and other healthcare specialists as required.

All areas of our Centre are comfortable and friendly, and patients have a choice of sociable or quiet communal spaces to relax with each other or welcome family and friends. Every patient room is semi en-suite and you can make it feel even cosier with personal touches such as cherished pictures, soft furnishings and mementos.

There is something enjoyable and stimulating for everyone to enjoy each day. Our range of activities and events at GNCC is designed for all interests and abilities to encourage people to stay active and involved.

Key Information

We provide care for those who are publicly funded as well as those paying for their own care.

It’s important to get professional advice on the best way to fund the cost of care and we suggest that you take advice from a care fees expert to make sure that you have explored all the options available to you.

In order to make life easier we have contacted a national care fees planning specialist, Symponia who are dedicated to the financial issues of later life, in particular the payment of care fees. Through Symponia’s network of carefully selected and qualified financial advisers they offer you and/or your family member empathic, bespoke advice on the best way to fund weekly care fees. This approach ensures that not only are all our residents and their families aware of the legislation and how it works but they are able to explore all the financial options available to them.

It should be noted that Four Seasons Health Care and Symponia operate completely independently with no commission or financial benefit to Four Seasons Health Care as a result of your conversation or contract.
